New year, new life!

Baby Miles 8weeks 3 days

Surprise! We are having a baby! This is what the New Year has in store for us. This was a total surprise to us as well and completely unexpected. For some unknown reason, we are excited to add one more mouth to feed to our little family. We have known since December 1st but have for the most part kept it on the down low, mostly because we were uncertain if things were going to stay this way. It is still early and we are still worried that something could go wrong, however, we wanted to share our joy with all of our friends and family.

Baby Thomas 8 weeks 6 days

  Sometimes, certain things happen, and they are seemingly beyond coincidence. I believe that in many cases, a coincidence is nothing more then that, but other times, there seems to be something else at work. In this instance, it is two fold.
  Case in point: December 1st, Melanie takes a pregnancy test, instant result was positive. December 2nd. I text my BFF Aaron and tell him the news, as we have often kept each other apprised of this type of info this early on. Aaron tells me that Michelle (Aaron's wife) thinks that she might be pregnant and she is taking a test latter that day. Her tests are confirmed. Now we are all kind of blown away by the odds of this as we could not have planned it if we tried. It turns out that both our due dates are 2 days apart. As weird as this might be, the coincidences keep on coming. Melanie's due date is August 7th, 2011. August 7th is Melanie's grandpa, Joe Hall's Birthday. Grandpa Joe passed away less than a year ago with Melanie and other family members by his side. Now, I know that fewer than 5% of babies are born on their due date, however, if you knew Joe Hall, you would know that it would be just like him to some how make things  happen this way for two reasons that I can think of; First and foremost, Joe was (and apparently still is) a prankster, and would have found the irony of this situation, to be funny. Secondly, Joe liked to be in control and take charge and to me this sends a message that "Hey, I'm still here, and I am still calling the shots!"
  Melanie has often talked about wishing she had a little girl, and I have often dreamt that Apollo had a little sister, so we are thinking there is a good chance that this new life could be a little girl. Only time will tell, and we will be happy either way, but for all our sakes, I am hoping Melly gets her little girl.
  There is another "coincidence" to this story that I am not privy to tell at this time, but it just adds another dimension to this whole situation. I will provide an update to this when it is appropriate.
  Say your prayers for all of us that all will be okay and that we will have  healthy new babies at the end of July or beginning of August.  Also, say your prayers for Apollo as he will have to accept sharing his throne. I think his life will be changed more than the rest of ours.
